A Japanese court has fined 70 billion yen for kidnapping, molesting and killing a little girl. The perpetrator is a character from the girl's school.
This kidnapping incident occurred on March 24, 2017 when a little girl named Le Thi Nhat Linh was kidnapped while leaving for school. The girl is of Vietnamese descent.
According to a Kyodo News report, Friday (9/24/2021), the perpetrator named Yasumasa Shibuya (50) kidnapped, then sexually assaulted, strangled the victim, and left the body of the 3rd grade elementary school student near a ditch located in the city of Abiko.
Shibuya is the former head of the parent group at Mutsumi Daini Elementary School in Matsudi, close to Tokyo.
The court then ordered Shibuya to pay compensation to the victim's parents.
"The mental anguish (of the victim's parents), wanting to see their child grow up and take care of him warmly, is immeasurable," said Haki Tsuoshi Momosaki.
The father of the victim, Le Anh Hao (39), said the money he received would not return his daughter. But he wants the perpetrators to be held accountable.
"Even though there is no amount of money that can return Linh, we have to make sure (Shibuya) is held accountable under the law," said Le Ah Hao.
